PhD Researcher

Research
I am an archaeologist specialising in the archaeology of southern Africa. My research examines interactions between different groups, with a particular focus on material culture analysis and pre-historic ornaments. I have also worked in South Africa’s heritage management sector, developing expertise in impact assessments and archaeological mitigation. My doctoral research investigates the role of coastal and inland communities in Mozambique within the trade and exchange networks of the Indian Ocean world.
Biography
I hold an MA (with distinction) from the University of Pretoria and am currently a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, supported by the Entangled Project Scholarship.
